About the event
This month, we will be focusing on early edible greens and learning strategies to help us identify and forage for summer and fall fruit later in the season. We will also have more in person opportunities to build experience with invasive plants and look a likes. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to forage, process and use a featured wild plant. I have permission from the Iowa DNR to remove the noxious plant garlic mustard from the park. Any of the garlic mustard harvested is welcome for guests to take home. There will be recipes provided in the resource packets you will receive at the teaching.
The flowers and plants we will be reviewing include, but are not limited to:
Wild Plum
Serviceberry
Plantain
Wild Apple
