Who Are We?
Sacred Roots is a locally owned small business that is dedicated to land stewardship and sharing the knowledge of the land with others. It is an honor and a privilege to teach about the ability plants have to build communities in ecosystems and their edible and traditional medicinal value.
From our volunteer events to help nature and the community, to our Trail Teachings, Sacred Roots’ mission is to reconnect our community with nature and provide foundational knowledge to build skills in foraging and wildcrafting in a way that benefits the land.
We strive to remind everyone of each and every one of our Sacred Roots.

Neighbors to Nature Initiative
Our neighborhoods and cities are not outside of nature. The flowers in your garden and the produce in your kitchen, even some of your medicines. The Earth does so much for us. We want to give back by removing litter from roadsides, waterways and our communities. In this way, we can spread the message that we need to be good neighbors not just to each other, but to nature as well.

Private Nature Walks
Parties up to 5 will be accepted to book a private educational nature walk. This can be at a park near you, your backyard or acreage. Pricing will be the same regardless of the number of people attending.
Volunteer Opportunities
New opportunities to participate in volunteer events to remove litter will be posted in the future. If you know an area of Cedar Rapids, IA that has excess litter, fill out a contact us form and let us know. We will be happy to schedule a clean up.
