Roots of Revival
As the Wheel of the Year turns, we find ourselves in the midst of spring. The land slowly awakens as the ephemerals start to bloom. The rest of the flora in the forests, prairies and wetlands will soon follow. Biennial and perennial plants, rooted deep in the Earth, offer a profound lesson in resilience.
These plant allies endure the harshest winters because their roots delve deep into the heart of the Earth, letting them survive beneath the frozen soil. This connection is their sacred bond, providing the strength to weather any challenge and become reborn with the return of spring. We, too, are children of the Earth, and we can learn from their inspiring example. We must cultivate our own deep roots, anchoring ourselves to the things that keep us grounded. Our morals, our hobbies, our passions and the people we love. Investing into these will help us deepen our roots so that even after the coldest and harshest winters, and the darkest times in our lives.

By nurturing what keeps us grounded, protecting our spirits and embracing the lessons of the ancient ways, we can weather any challenge and emerge again. Patience becomes our guiding star, illuminating the path through the darkest night, trusting that the light will always return just as spring will always come. For just as the roots sustain the plant through winter's trials, our spiritual grounding will sustain us through life's inevitable challenges, allowing us to blossom anew, stronger and more deeply connected to the sacred circle of life.
